The Sandlot is returning to Southwest D.C. The outdoor bar and events space has inked a deal to open during game days and other special events from open space by D.C. United’s Audi Field. It wrapped up negotiations just in time for Major League Soccer’s 2023 All-Star Game at the Buzzard Point stadium.

Sandlot Southwest is kicking things off with a watch party for the big game starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday outside the stadium’s Gate A , featuring free juice cocktails along with along other local food and beverages. Going forward, the venue will operate from what’s known as Parcel C, a future development site outside Audi Field’s Gate B, a short walk from its former location at 1800 Half St. SW.
